VISITING A POMPEIAN HOME
Most roman houses consist of two rooms in a small apartment were they will wash, cook, eat and sleep. These rooms were hot in summer and cold in winter these rooms could go up to 5 stories high and were very noisy and smelly. in the center of their houses they had an atrium which was an open area of sky were there was a pool filled with rainwater and it could also hold the household shrine. The furniture was mainly beds, couches and low tables and chairs and small lamps that provided light in the evening. the Romans home was a very basic and small place that they shared with their family but are looked back on to be quite stylish and unique filled with beautifully made poetry and patterned mosaic tiles as flooring.
