SIGHTS
The romans liked music and dancing for entertainment. Buskers were often playing in the streets of pompeii and were hired out to perform at festivals, celebrations and even private parties. Amoung the ordinary people and families the most popular and favourite instruments consisted of pipes, flutes, cymbols, castanets and horns. the higher class of the rich and more educated people thought of the noise they like to be Lacking sophistication or good taste so they preferd move gentle and soft sound which would be played along side of a poet of singer. Entertainment was also sseked through plays mostly comic plays which had happy endings and mad the audience laugh and tragedies which were much more serious and ended with misery or suffering. they also liked clowns, and were the ones that invented mime telling stories without words instead using gestures, acrobatic movements and dance. Theater played a very big part in roman entertainmemt and many famous dramas showed stories of ancient myths and legends, and were made for people to think about morals, politics and to discover a secret meaning of the scene. all the parts in the roman plays were performed by men and for womens roles men wore masks and dressed in female costumes asfore women could not be actors but were ecepted to do mime.
